Well, that’s all she wrote for Chieri Volley 2005/2006 Seria A1! Our season is over and with yet another disappointing end. We lost to Perugia in three on Saturday. Congrats to them. We have just struggled throughout the season. But there were some positive moments. Though we didn’t win the championship nor did we win any cups, we remain in A1. We went five in most of our losses which with just a little difference those could have been victories for us and yet we still made the quarter finals top eight. We played in the quarter finals of the Italian Cup. We finished second in both the European Cup tournament and the League Cup tournament. Of course with the goals and objectives which we had set, this wasn’t at all satisfactory. However on the up side, the results could have been much worse.
Because Saturday’s match was played early, shops were still open when we finished playing. So, what do women tend to do to cheer themselves up? Yep, you’ve got it SHOP (among other things)! Even though I have great difficulty finding my size here, I bought a few shirts, and a pair of sneakers. Sunday, was a beautiful day. I went to Church and just returned home content doing nothing. Monday, just because my friends and I decided to drive to Fianle Liguir (something like that), it was an overcast, cold day ending with rain! But I was prepared with my blank, lying down covered listening to the sea . We packed up just before the rain hit…. I had a great day anyway and enjoyed the time with my friends.
So, just a little while longer here in Italy. I’ll have a nice two month break then join the National Team at some point in July.
Thanks everyone for you prayers and support. I will let you know when I know where I will play next season. Until then, blessings you all.
Danielle
As ever you gave it your best shot – and nobody can ask anymore of you than that .The difference between winning and losing is really marginal – for once you have been on a losing team – but that in no way diminishes your effort or ability.
Your new team will be very very lucky in signing such a professional and dedicated athlete.
Enjoy your break – time with your family -and no doubt you will turn up for training in July with the US team – as the athlete who is in the best condition .
Next stop ? well somewhere where you can coach in English ? who knows the choice is yours .
Sorry that your season ended on a sour note! I’m sure the rest will be welcome though. Take care!
Ciao Danielle, anche se per Chieri non è stata una stagione felice, sei stata sempre bravissima. Mi auguro di rivederti ancora il prossimo anno nel nostro campionato. Ti voglio bene!
Hi Danielle,
I don’t know if you will play for Chieri next season… if you won’t, I hope to have the opportunity to see you play again even if in an other Italian team.
Have a good summer,
Silvia
